Honors English 2:
This course offers a survey of literature from World authors. Understanding the cultural, religious and political backgrounds is necessary in the comprehension of these works. The Honors level course addresses skills needed to prepare for future classes of this caliber as well as early preparation of work habits, vocabulary, analytical thinking and developing writing skills for students who are college bound. Focus is given toward skills required on the North Carolina End of Course Exam given to all English 2 students. Vocabulary and writing focus on the ACT, SAT and college preparatory readings.

Under ‘files” you should see an iBook for MACBETH. This iBook contains a lot of activities and information for the play. **Make sure you click on pictures and read the information provided (i.e., the Globe Theater, the individual characters). Listen to video/audio clips. Highlight and answer questions. The questions can be answered on paper and submitted before you leave class. The part on paradoxes will be the longest to complete.
On the page that has a video link for "Who is the real Macbeth?", the website has removed the video. You can find the answers to the questions for the quiz if you click on the tab "Macbeth Worlds" and read the section under "The Real Macbeth".
At the end of the iBook it will offer you an opportunity to read and/or listen to Act One. You may do both. If you prefer to access the actual play (rather than No Fear Shakespeare version), you can locate it at the following web address: http://www.folgerdigitaltexts.org/html/Mac.html
